Our Linux conversion is almost complete. All USA locations have updated to the new system. There are only two international locations that have not yet updated. They are scheduled for update after the new year. Many of your counter workstations have been upgraded to UBUNTU Linux. This is an inexpensive method for upgrading older computers. Inexpensive means zero dollars of marginal cost.

Here are the major items from the user group meeting in Boston.

1) More station detail on most reports.
2) LDW to the station level. This will require setting up classes for each station.
We will need to modify the valid_class program to go to the station level. We also need to create a program to copy classes to a station.
3) Insurance replacement screen needs the percentage that the insurance company pays. State Farm pays 80% 20% for their
insureds. Just like medical insurance. When the rental closes we need to compute the split bill based on the percentage.

The general ledger journal entry program has been rewritten to use a new entry screen that is more like a spread sheet. You can still enter the transactions and save them for later editing before posting. You can also post directly from within the journal entry screen. Please give us your feedback on this modification.

Dothan Alabam converted to the new Linux based system on 06/04/09.

Altoona PA converted to the new Linux based system. The moved to the new system on May 28.

There is a problem with the RIHLIT files that were just received. They do not have any CM entries on them. We are awaiting further information before posting them. We hope to hear back from Hertz by Thursday 05/07/09. As of Thursday June 4, 2009 you should post your RIHLIT statement as it was sent to you. Hertz will notify you of the amount of CM transactions that you should have been credited for. If you are due a payment you checks should be cut on Friday 06/05/09. If you have a balance due you should offset the amount of the missing CM transactions and pay the net amount due.

There is a new down load menu. You do not have to register to access the download area.

As of July 1, 2008 we began using the new Hertz prescribed refueling rules. The basis is a $6.99 fee for any rental that has refueling except those that accept the FPO option and drive more than 100 miles.

You should adjust your refueling and FPO fuel prices in the fixed rates option of the database menu. The basis for these rates is in the field bulletin that Hertz sent out prior to July 1st.

If you do not want to use the standard $6.99 fee please contact us for a change.
